The performance of the project will be measured through the following indicators.

  • Number of direct beneficiaries (Youth engaged in training and work experience opportunities)
  • Percentage of Internship participants who report being employed 12 months after the project
  • Percentage of youth who are assessed to have achieved satisfactory performance in the Urban Works and Services
  • Percentage of participants achieving minimum standards in vocation training

Project News

The second mass screening of youth commenced on the 9th of September in Wards Gordan 5, Gordons Ridge, Gordons 1-3, and ATS, 8-9 mile.

An Eligibility Screening Survey (ESS) is conducted to gather basic socio-economic and biodata on all youth who apply for entry to the project. A Baseline Survey will follow the ESS for the eligible youths, using a more detailed questionnaire.

Project components

Youth Job Corps

Raise the awareness of the project in targeted urban areas among youth in their communities, mobilize eligible youth, provide them with Basic Life Skills and Job Readiness Training (BLST) and place them in public works in road maintenance, construction of pathways and landscaping.

Skills Training

Provide a range of market-oriented skills training programs for approximately 5,700 youth to improve their general and technical skills needed in the workplace. Skills training is aimed to build basic competency and provide a skill development pathway for employment.

Referral Services and M&E

Aimed at delivering comprehensive data and analysis to support project operations and policy development. Include services to facilitate pathways to employment; engagement in micro-enterprises; training beyond the project; and specialized counseling support.

Project Management

This component will finance project management support, including safeguards oversight, communications and media, short-term technical assistance, training, grievance management. Two Project Management units are established and attached to NCDC and LCA.
